Delete your account

You can delete your Waymark account and its data at any time. There are two ways.

In the app

Open Waymark, go to Settings, and tap Delete account at the bottom. There is no waiting period, no cooling-off window and no email to confirm — the deletion happens as soon as you confirm it.

It can take a few moments to finish. The button says Deleting… while it works, and signs you out when it is done.

By email

If you no longer have the app installed, email teenytailhelp@gmail.com from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete your account. We will confirm once it is done.

What gets deleted

Your profile, your profile photo, your goals, your daily step summaries, your activities and their recorded routes, your saved routes, and your group memberships are all permanently removed. Your sign-in account is deleted too, so the email address can no longer be used to log in. This cannot be undone.

What stays, and why

Messages you have already sent remain visible to the other people in that conversation, in the same way an email you have sent stays in the recipient's inbox. They stop being attributed to you — your name is replaced with “Deleted account”.

A group you created is not deleted with your account, because other people may still be using it. The group continues without a recorded creator, and your membership of it is removed along with everything else.

This is deliberate. Deleting your account should remove you, not destroy things other people are still relying on.
