Privacy policy

TeenyTail is an app for booking pet boarding in Bengaluru, run by Yohan Kumar (“we”), Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. This policy says what we collect, why, who sees it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask of us.

What we collect

• Your account: mobile number (you sign in with it), name, email, an optional photo, and your area and city.
• Identity check: that your name matches your Aadhaar, through DigiLocker, and the last four digits of the number. Never the document itself.
• Your pets: what you enter — name, breed, age, weight, food, walks, behaviour, medicines, allergies, vaccination date and a photo of the card, their vet, and an emergency contact.
• Emergency contacts: the names and numbers of two people we may call if you cannot be reached while your pet is boarded. Please tell them you have given us their number.
• Bookings and reviews: the stays you book, their dates and amounts, and the reviews you and boardings write.
• Photos and videos a boarding sends of your pet during a stay.
• Location: only when you tap “use my location”, to sort boardings by distance. It is used once and not stored.
• Boardings: the business's name, address, phone, email, photos and rates, and optionally a UPI ID and GST number.
• Technical: your network address and request times, kept briefly to protect the service from abuse.

We do not use advertising or tracking tools, and we do not sell personal data.

Payments

For now you pay the boarding directly, at drop-off, by UPI or cash. TeenyTail does not process or store any payment details.

Who sees what

• The boarding you book sees your name, your pet's details and your requests. It sees your phone number only from when it accepts your booking until pickup.
• You see a boarding's address and phone once it has accepted your booking.
• Service providers who run parts of TeenyTail for us, under contract and only for that purpose: DigitalOcean (servers and storage, in Bengaluru), Message Central (sign-in codes by SMS), Resend (email), and a DigiLocker partner (identity check).
• Authorities, only where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

• Your account, until you close it.
• Photos and videos of a stay: 7 days after pickup, then deleted. You can save any you want to keep.
• When you close your account, your personal details, emergency contacts and your pets' names and photos are deleted. Reviews you wrote stay on the boarding's listing without your name. Records of past stays are kept only as long as needed to settle any question about them and as the law requires.

Keeping it safe

Everything travels encrypted. Data is stored in India, in Bengaluru. Sign-in uses a one-time code to your phone. Photos and videos sit behind long random links that cannot be guessed and are never listed anywhere; they are shown only to the people in the booking.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or have it erased, and withdraw your consent at any time — most of this you can do yourself in the app. You can also nominate someone to act for you. To ask, or to raise a grievance, write to our Grievance Officer: Yohan Kumar, teenytailhelp@gmail.com. We acknowledge within 2 working days and resolve within 15 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

TeenyTail is for adults. You must be 18 or over to make an account.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it applies.
